Basically, all you have to do is to upload the script to your website and its ready to go. However, you will probably, first,
want to change the text and banners which you will find in the main website files and also in the 'downloads' index and root
files.
You can name the file anything you wish and as a security measure I'd also suggest you re-name the 'downloads' folder to something else...it doesnt matter what you call it as long as you remember to change the link in the main index file.
Please feel free to change the header & footer images to suit your site...but ensure that the sizes are the same ok!
I would suggest initially that you use this as a standard download script for all your websites because you will only need to change the text etc only once and then can upload to as many sites as you wish.
IF....IF for any reason the script does not work, it maybe because
that your php.ini file in your main server root is set to :-
Register Golbals=OFF
You will need to ask your host to enable the php.ini file to read:-
Register Globals=ON
and if necessary, COPY the php.ini file into your download area directory.
The script should work on 99.9% of servers so this 'problem' really should not affect you at all!
At the moment, the number of 'categories' are set to 6, however this can be changed in the 'downloads' folder index page....look for a line
which is like this :-
$depthlimit=6;
You can then change the number if needed.
So...now you are ready to get on with it right??
Just upload the script and add a few 'test' files to your 'downloads' section so that you can get a good idea as to how simple this really
is!!
